In this project I had to express the meaning of a word or an idea through the spacing, sizing and placement of letters on a page, while not distorting the letterforms vertically or horizontally. The only typeface that I was allowed to use was the Futura typeface. For my first assigned word of occupied, I used repetition to fill up negative space and give the feeling of being occupied. As for my second word, Vacant, I used proximity to show emptiness in the A's and placed the word on the bottom of the page to emphasize on the negative space above.
